Archive - Nick Feldman

Nick FeldmanBorn in 1955 in North London, England, to Gita and Basil. He has a younger brother, Steven, and a sister, Alexandra, who is a Graphic Designer and has her own business. If you read the liner notes to the Huang Chung album, you'll notice that Alex was responsible for "Logo Design"! Nick lives in London, and he once had a lovely cat named Mozart, who passed away. Nick's hobbies consist of base jumping, art, reading, and cartoons. Nick has an extensive collection of cartoons and cartoon films, especially of Tex Avery and Don Martin. Nick's favorite foods are French cuisine, smoked salmon, and interesting vegetarian dishes.

Nick was similarly inspired by the Beatles in the beginning, before immersing himself in an eclectic musical diet over the years: Frank Zappa, Soft Machine, modern classical, Miles Davis, punk, and traditional classical music. At the University of Liverpool, Feldman found himself studying subjects like psychology. "I soon found out that I wasn't interested in rat behavior, but people instead." He left the university, joining various bands in Liverpool before moving to London, where he'd eventually meet Jack in the midst of the punk movement.

At one point, Nick listed a few favorites...

Favorite Groups and musicians: The Beatles, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Sex Pistols, Talking Heads (Eno/Byrne), Thomas Dolby, Luciano Berio, Jimi Hendrix, Beethoven

Favorite Singers: Tina Turner, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Klaus Blasquiz, Nicholas Isherwood

Favorite Video: Talking Heads - "Burning Down The House"

Favorite Films: "Fanny & Alexander" (an Ingmar Bergman film)
"Ludwig" (a Visconti film), "To Live and Die In L.A." (a William Friedkin film)
